Blouse in crepe cotton voile. We like the "dominotier" print on an almond green background, exclusive to Emile et ida, designed by our stylist Jessica. This purple fruit pattern was inspired by her encounter with a hatbox covered with dominoté paper. Historically, dominoté paper was used for wall compositions: by assembling several motifs, domino makers created unique and custom-made decorations. Dominoes were also used as temporary covers for books awaiting binding. In the 18th century, domino makers engraved designs on wooden boards and printed them on sheets of rag paper using a manual wooden press.
The delicate embroidery and satin-stitched festoons on the collar and sleeve ends are a delight. The embroidery on the placket is handmade. The blouse closes at the front with natural mother-of-pearl buttons, the short sleeves are tightened with an elastic band.
